Keeping up with the latest qualifications is crucial for providing the best opportunities to students. This blog post is here to guide education providers through the new T-Levels launching from 2024-2025, helping you stay ahead of the curve.
What are T-Levels?
T-Levels, short for Technical Levels, which were introduced in England in 2020 to offer students a more hands-on, practical approach to learning.
Designed to be on par with A-Levels, they focus more on vocational education, with a blend of classroom-based lessons and practical trade learning. Aimed at 16-19-year-olds, there are already over 20 subjects to choose from which cover a range of sectors from engineering to digital, and now some exciting new additions are on the horizon!
This course will cover a range of topics, including materials, techniques, and the history of design. Offering a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of craft and design, the Craft and Design T-Level will ready students for careers in interior design, fashion, and product development.
Also launching in September 2024, the Media, Broadcast and Production T-Level aims to equip students with technical and practical experience needed in the media and entertainment industry. The curriculum will cover areas such as film production, journalism, and digital media.
The Animal Care and Management T-Level will focus on the healthcare and management of animals, addressing topics such as animal biology, welfare, wildlife conservation and veterinary practices. From September 2024 students can opt for this course, learning practical skills to prepare them for a career in animal care.
Designed to prepare students for careers in the hospitality industry, the Catering T-Level will be offered from September 2025. The curriculum will cover areas from food preparation and, nutrition to customer service with hands-on teaching in real-world settings.
The Marketing T-Level will be available in September 2025, it will teachstudents the practical and technical skills needed for careers from public relations to advertising. The curriculum will explore topics such as digital marketing, market research, and brand management.
